LINDALE -- Pine Tree had four players score goals and three of them score at least two in an 8-0 road rout of Lindale in Tuesday's non-district girls soccer match.

Pine Tree (3-0-1) led 3-0 at halftime before adding five second-half goals. Lilly Cabrera had a hat trick with three goals, while Amanda Wallin added two goals and three assists. Wallin, Pine Tree's career goals and assists leader, has 99 career goals entering the Lady Pirates' 4 p.m. contest against Plano at the Longview Tournament on Jan. 24.

Amanda Cabrera also scored two goals, while Madi Vineyard had three assists. Victoria Flores had one goal and one assist.

Pine Tree accumulated 21 shots on goal to Lindale's six.

Athens Ties Palestine 1-1 on Monday

PALESTINE -- Athens and Palestine tied 1-1 in Monday's non-district boys soccer match at Wildcat Stadium.

Cesar Ortega's goal off an Enrique Rodriguez assist gave Athens a 1-0 halftime lead, but Palestine answered with a goal off a second-half corner kick.

Both teams play in the Palestine Tournament starting Thursday.
