Softball Poll: Thirteen Ranked East Texas Teams, Including Three Top 10 3A Squads

East Texas softball is strong, especially in smaller classifications, according to the Texas Girls Coaches Association.

The TGCA released its weekly polls Monday and East Texas had 13 teams ranked in Class 3A, Class 2A, and Class A.

No. 4 Jasper and No. 5 Lufkin Hudson led the way in 3A, followed by No. 8 Rusk, No. 11 Henderson, and No. 12 Mineola. Gilmer and Huntington received honorable mention consideration.

No. 11 Winnsboro and No. 12 Sabine led the 2A East Texas contingent, which also included Central Heights ranked 14th, Troup at No. 16, and Tatum at 20th.

Alto is the highest-ranked East Texas team in 1A, registering a No. 4 ranking in Monday's poll. The Lady Jackets were followed closely by fifth-ranked Harleton. Beckville was No. 11.
