ELYSIAN FIELDS -- Kimmy Hendricks clubbed a two-run homer to help New Diana defeated Elysian Fields, 7-3, Tuesday in District 17-2A action.

Courtney Rogers got the win for New Diana, allowing three runs on six hits with nine strikeouts and two walks. Rogers also had a double at the plate, as did Kayli Morvan and Brook Abbas.

Kaylee Prather led Elysian Fields at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs scored and three steals. Bailey Fry added two RBIs in the losing effort.

New Diana resumes its season Friday at home against Union Grove, while Elysian Fields plays at Tatum.

Hughes Springs Rolls Past Daingerfield

DAINGERFIELD -- Breanne Gunn belted a grand slam, leading Hughes Springs to a 20-0 drubbing of Daingerfield on Tuesday in District 16-2A action.

Ashlin Roach also homered for Hughes Springs as part of a 2-for-3 performance, which also included four runs scored. Destiny Gonzales, Siera Baird and Halie Pippin all had two RBIs for the Lady Mustangs.

Kaitlyn Morris got the win, allowing just one run with six strikeouts and one walk in five innings.

Hughes Springs plays host to Redwater on Friday, while Daingerfield plays at Hooks.

Winnsboro Has No Trouble With Lone Oak

WINNSBORO -- Brenda Jongsma dominated in the circle and ripped a three-run triple at the plate to help Winnsboro take a 16-1 win over Lone Oak on Tuesday in District 14-2A play.

Jongsma earned her 11th win of the season for Winnsboro, which improved to 12-5-1 overall on the year.

Danielle Gregory went 3-for-4 with four RBIs to lead Winnsboro on offense.

Winnsboro continues its season Friday at home against Alba-Golden.

Longview Earns 12-5A Win Over Rival Tyler Lee

LONGVIEW -- Amy Kelly went 4-for-4 with three doubles and three RBIs, leading the Longivew Lady Lobos to an 11-2 win over Tyler Lee on Tuesday.

Anna Bellatti got the win in the circle for Longview (2-3 in District 12-5A), allowing three hits with four strikeouts in seven innings.

Tara Goolsby was 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in the winning effort.

Josee Ross Pitches Troup Past Frankston

FRANKSTON -- Josee Ross struck out 12 in a three-hit shutout of Frankston, 7-0, Tuesday in District 18-2A action.

Caitlin Tomlin went 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs for Troup. Lee Ann Lloyd was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI as part of the Lady Tigers' 16-hit attack.

Ronni Boyer, Madison Martin, Bethany Mason, Katelyn Standley and Ross all had two hits for Troup.
