One of the biggest sleepers in East Texas' 2017 recruiting class picked up another Division I scholarship offer on Tuesday.

Gladewater defensive back Austin Hawley (6-1, 207) confirmed to ETSN.fm late Tuesday night that Southeastern Louisiana extended him an offer, which was first reported by Justin Wells of InsideTexas.com.

The offer was Hawley's fourth. SE Louisiana joined Louisiana-Monroe, Lamar, and Incarnate Word as suitors for the Bears' standout defender.

Gladewater, one of East Texas' best defenses, is helped along by players like Hawley. He is tied for third in tackles for Gladewater this season with 40. Hawley's added eight tackles for loss with two sacks, forced two fumbles, broken up five passes, and recorded an interception.

Hawley put forth an impressive display at the fourth annual ETSN.fm + APEC Football Recruiting Combine in Tyler last May. He took home Defensive Backs MVP honors. Hawley's highlights included a 32-inch vertical jump and a 4.59-second laser-timed 40-yard dash.

SE Louisiana, located in Hammond, La., is an FCS member of the Southland Conference. The Lions are 3-3 overall and 3-1 in conference play this season.

Hawley, like all current senior prospects, will become eligible to sign with any program that offers him in February.
