East Texas' deep and talented 2017 recruiting class continues to attract signifiant attention from college football programs across the country.

On Monday, a member of that class received an offer from a school close to home.

Atlanta senior outside linebacker Dez Robinson announced a scholarship opportunity from Stephen F. Austin, via Twitter on Monday evening.

Robinson (6-3, 210), who also holds FBS offers from UTEP and Wyoming, is the second area linebacker to pick an SFA invitation in less than a week. The 'Jacks reached out to Wills Point's Sloan Rodberg on Nov. 22.

SFA, located in Nacogdoches and the only Division I program located in the ETSN.fm coverage area, is roughly 125 miles from Atlanta.

The Lumberjacks are coached by Clint Conque, who led SFA to a 5-6 overall record in 2016, 4-5 in Southland Conference competition.

SFA is no stranger to recruiting the East Texas area as at least 10 players with roots in the region are expected to be on the team's roster in 2017.

Robinson and teammate, fellow linebacker Tristan Allen (Louisiana Tech commit), were key cogs on the Atlanta defense in 2016. The Rabbits finished the year at 6-4, just missing out on the Class 4A Division II playoffs.

Like all college football prospects currently in their senior year of high school, Robinson will become eligible to sign with any school that offers him in February.
