Sulphur Springs Standout Larry Pryor Named to StudentSports.com’s Junior All-American Team

One of East Texas' top 2015 recruits earned national recognition for his stellar performance during the 2013 season.

Sulphur Springs junior Larry Pryor was named second-team junior all-America as a multi-purpose athlete by StudentSports.com.

Pryor, who is being recruited as a safety by a slew of Division I FBS programs, had a monster season running Sulphur Springs' uptempo spread offense. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder completed 170 of 285 passes for 2,666 yards, 26 touchdowns, and six interceptions while rushing 151 times for 1,027 yards and 16 scores.

ETSN.fm twice named Pryor, who had two interceptions and a forced fumble in limited defensive action, its Dairy Queen Offensive Player of the Week during the latter portions of the Wildcats' District 14-4A schedule. Sulphur Springs finished the season 8-4 overall and 4-1 in district, trailing only district champion Texas High.

Pryor is one of the most highly-coveted East Texas recruits in the 2015 class. He already holds nine offers, tied with Texas A&M-pledged Whitehouse safety Justin Dunning for second in the region behind Gladewater defensive tackle Daylon Mack (16), who is also committed to the Aggies.

Pryor's offer list includes Arkansas, Baylor, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas, and Texas Tech. He is expected to visit Texas A&M for a junior day in the near future.
