We caught up with some names you Carthage and Kilgore football fans may recognize and asked them about the old days of the Carthage vs. Kilgore rivalry.

There's not much left to do to get ready for Carthage and Kilgore in Friday's Class 3A Division I state championship game at AT&T Stadium.

CARTHAGE -- Considering the shattered school records and overwhelming success over the course of their careers, reaching the state championship in Arlington only seems fitting for Carthage's core of senior offensive stars.

CARTHAGE -- Fifty-eight games. That's a lot of high school football.

Friday's Class 3A Division I state championship game participants Kilgore and Carthage share only one common opponent -- another set of Bulldogs.

There may not be a region in Texas more proud of its local high school football teams than East Texas.

KILGORE -- They are the biggest men on the field. Yet to the average observer, the most invisible.
