SAN ANTONIO -- Martin's Mill's fans waited a long time to blow the roof off of the Alamodome in San Antonio. Their opportunity finally came out of a Mustangs' timeout with 4:49 to play. The team had never led in the game but it entered the break on an 8-1 run, giving promise the season was not going to end in Friday's Class 2A state semifinal game against Canadian. Martin's Mill had faced a 19-poi

It fell to the Tigers last season in the quarterfinal round for its fifth and final loss of the year. COMMERCE -- It would've taken a full, 32-minute effort from heavy underdog Brownsboro to pull off a shocking upset of top-ranked Dallas Triple A Academy. A dreadful opening half cost the Bears any hope of that. Triple A Academy, led by 6-3 senior guard and Baylor commit King McClure, built a 22-point halftime lead and costed to an 83-59 victory over Brownsboro in their Class 4A Region II semifinal

HUNTSVILLE -- Friday's Class 4A Region III semifinal playoff game between Tatum and Houston Sterling followed the same pattern all night. Sterling pulled ahead, the Eagles rallied back and then Sterling would take off again. If the big game at Sam Houston State's Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum lasted a bit longer, it could have been an entirely different outcome. But Sterling was able to enjoy the fr
