LONGVIEW – The West Rusk Raiders wasted little time jumping on the Union Grove Lions, scoring on the first play from scrimmage in an easy 35-7 win Saturday night at Lobo Stadium.
TYLER -- The two teams that played Friday night scored so much they apparently broke the scoreboard at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium. It simply would not respond to the control panel's commands.
That turned out to be the least of problems as personal devices counted down the final minutes ahead of Saturday's scheduled 7 p.m. kickoff between Longview and John Tyler in the third and final gam

Keenan Hargest rushed for 190 yards and four touchdowns in the game on 21 carries.
DIANA -- Tyler Grace Community worked its way out to a big halftime lead and never looked back in a 44-6 victory against New Diana.
The Cougars (2-0) led 28-0 at the break with three different players scoring touchdowns.
Zach West and Mason Dacus got it going with scoring runs of 13 and 10 yards, respectively, in the first quarter...
WHITE OAK -- The Roughnecks had no problems Friday in a 59-8 dismantling of Mount Vernon in non-district play.
White Oak (2-0) scored 45 points in the first half. Quarterback Heath Hood threw three touchdown passes in the first 24 minutes...
DAINGERFIELD -- It was another heartbreaker for Daingerfield, which dropped its 11th of 12 straight regular season games Friday in a 44-28 loss to Malakoff.
Daingerfield (0-2) led 21-13 at halftime and then got outscored 31-7 in the game's final 24 minutes.
WINNSBORO -- It was more of the same for Mineola as quarterback Jeremiah Crawford and Chantz Perkins combined for more than 200 rushing yards in a 35-14 win at Winnsboro.
The Yellowjackets' victory avenged a loss to the Red Raiders last season...
PALESTINE -- Jacksonville was one yard away from perhaps giving first-year head coach Wayne Coleman his first career win as an Indian.
But Palestine held its ground on 4th-and-goal from the 1-yard line to hang on for a 40-33 double overtime win in the 80th meeting between the two schools. Indians running back Vadall Johnson went down for no gain.
MOUNT PLEASANT -- Ke'Mon Freeman passed for 365 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Liberty-Eylau Leopards to a 49-21 out of Mount Pleasant at Sam Parker Field on Friday night.
GILMER – Kelton Collier led eight different Gilmer running backs with 142 yards, as the third-ranked Buckeyes opened the season with a 2-0 mark after a 35-19 win over Pine Tree inside Jeff Traylor Stadium on Friday night.
