TYLER -- The Cougars built up a three-possession lead in the first quarter of Friday's game against Tyler All Saints and never looked back on the way to a 51-0 victory at Clyde-Perkins Stadium. Quarterback Christopher Wilhelmi led the way. He completed 9 of 11 passes for 134 yards and a score while also rushing for 61 yards and scoring the early, game-winning touchdown on a 1-yard dive.

CENTER -- The Roughriders are getting closer to a playoff spot after last year's disappointing campaign. Friday's 42-7 win against Tatum helped Center keep pace with Atlanta for the District 6-4A Division II lead.

HALLSVILLE -- Sulphur Springs' rough season continued Friday in a 49-3 loss at Hallsville in District 15-5A play. Bobcats receiver Lance Hardeman scored three times in the first half from beyond 40 yards, and Hallsville (4-3, 2-2) owned a 42-0 lead at the break.

PITTSBURG -- Liberty-Eylau was tabbed in the preseason to win District 7-4A Division I and to have an opportunity at much, much more. CANTON -- The Gilmer Buckeyes ran their winning streak to 23 games with a 45-19 rout of Canton on Friday night in District 5-4A Division II action at Norris Birdwell Stadium.

GARLAND -- Tyler Lee scored 23 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to stun Garland, 51-47, Friday night in District 11-6A action at Williams Stadium, in the return of Red Raiders quarterback Zach Hall.

BROWNSBORO -- Tamrick Pace's 2-yard touchdown pass to Clayton Orr with 10 seconds remaining sent the Brownsboro Bears to a thrilling 42-36 comeback win over Henderson on Friday night at Bear Stadium.

GLADEWATER -- Atlanta scored the game's first 20 ppints, and held on for a 35-28 win over Gladewater on Friday night in clash of District 6-4A Division II unbeatens Friday night at Jack V. Murphy Bear Stadium.

ATHENS -- The Athens Hornets continue to roll along in the race for the District 8-4A Division I crown with a 41-23 homecoming victory over the Mabank Panthers on Friday at Bruce Field.
