ONALASKA -- Mason Huffines did it all for Elkhart in a 10-0, six-inning win against Onalaska in the two team's District 21-3A opener Wednesday.
It began and ended with the senior pitcher. He pitched a one-hit game and ended it at the plate with a three-run homer, a hit which forced the umpires to call the game an inning early in favor of the Elks (6-3, 1-0).
JOAQUIN -- Hemphill made the most of its time Friday at Joaquin's Border Bash Tournament with wins against Broadus and Alto.
The Hornets (5-0) opened the day with a 4-3 victory against Broadus. Lefty Andrew Wood faced 27 batters and struck out nine in six innings of work.
HEMPHILL -- The Hemphill Hornets captured their own Pinecone Classic over the weekend in an event that featured Class 3A and 2A teams from across the southeast portion of Texas.

GILMER -- Diboll won two of four games at the Division II 7-on-7 state qualifying tournament at Gilmer High School, but its second win will send the Lumberjacks to College Station next month for games against the state's best.
