LUFKIN -- No. 9 Carthage built a 17-point third-quarter lead, but needed a late fourth-quarter stop and a final first down to hold off Palestine.

HUNTSVILLE -- Kendrick Mapp rushed for 207 yards and two touchdowns and Tyler Stubblefield threw three scores to lead Lufkin to a 35-20 win over Spring Dekaney at Sam Houston State University on Friday night.

McKINNEY -- Garrett McCain put on a quarterback clinic Friday night, throwing for 384 yards and seven touchdowns to help Wylie East handle Sulphur Springs, 70-33, in a Class 4A Division II bi-district matchup at Poe Stadium.

TYLER -- Once Henderson got the turnover bug out of its system, Van's defense was no match for the Lions' ground game.

FORT WORTH -- All or nothing. Tyler Grace Community went for it all against Fort Worth Christian on Friday night, but the Cougars came out on the wrong end in their TAPPS Division II playoff game.

ROYSE CITY -- Carsen Cook threw three touchdowns and Wylie's defense forced six Mount Pleasant turnovers as the Pirates eliminated the Tigers from the Class 4A Division II playoffs with a 45-21 bi-district win Friday night.

MESQUITE -- The Whitehouse Wildcats, like always, put up the yards and points in their Class 4A Division II Region II bi-district playoff against Ennis on Friday night.

GARLAND -- The mood after No. 2 John Tyler's 77-20 Class 4A Division I bi-district win over Waxahachie on Friday night was anything but positive, thanks to a third-quarter brawl that overshadowed a dominating performance.

HALLSVILLE -- Down two scores and facing elimination, Trevor Spear knew he needed to make a big play.

FORNEY -- Lancaster defeated Jacksonville, 34-2, Thursday night, knocking the Indians out of the Class 4A Division II playoffs at City Bank Stadium.
