PALESTINE -- Backed by a potent backfield and a stingy defense, the Overton Mustangs defeated the Wortham Bulldogs 34-7 in their Class A Division II Region III bi-district playoff Thursday at Wildcat Stadium.

TYLER -- Tanner Barr accounted for almost 300 first-half yards and Gilmer built a 29-point third-quarter lead en route to a 51-36 win against Canton in Thursday's Class 3A Division II Region II bi-district football playoff at TMF Rose Stadium.

LUFKIN -- The Troup Tigers looked to be in total command of their Class 2A Division II Region III bi-district playoff against East Chambers on Thursday night.
