TYLER -- Tyler Grace Community's do-everything player, Kade Clayton, was at it again Friday night, rushing for three touchdowns and catching another in the Cougars' 60-24 win over TAPPS Division II District 2 foe Carrollton Prince of Peace at Clyde-Perkins Stadium.

HALLSVILLE -- The Ivery cousins combined for almost 250 rushing yards and Sulphur Springs erased an early 11-point deficit to beat Hallsville 38-31 on Friday in a pivotal District 14-4A matchup.

TROUP -- No. 9 Troup's presence in the Associated Press rankings was short-lived, thanks to White Oak's quarterback-receiver combination of Dylan Gale and Jansen McCurdy.

GILMER -- Tanner Barr was nearly perfect, connecting on 11 of 13 passing attempts for 240 yards and three scores in Gilmer's 59-10 rout of Spring Hill on Friday night at Buckeye Stadium.

ELYSIAN FIELDS -- Hughes Springs running back Michael Martinez rushed for 220 yards and two touchdowns to keep the Mustangs undefeated in a 55-14 win over Elysian Fields on Friday night.

LONGVIEW -- Longview Lobos head coach John King this week described his team as being in playoff mode for the rest of the year in order to guarantee a spot in the postseason.

CHAPEL HILL -- The No. 4 Kilgore Bulldogs haven’t allowed many teams to play them close all season. Friday night, in spite of the reputation of their competition, was no exception.

MABANK — The Athens Hornets stopped a five-game losing streak with a 31-7 win over the Mabank Panthers on Friday night at Panther Stadium.
