One of the most promising offensive line prospects in East Texas' 2018 recruiting class added his third Division I FBS scholarship offer on Monday.

Tatum's Drake Centers was offered by Southern Miss, he announced on Twitter.

In addition to Southern Miss, Centers (6-3, 296) holds FBS opportunities from SMU and Texas State.

Centers was the second East Texas native offered by Southern Miss on Monday, as he joined Texas High 2019 quarterback Coltin Clack.

Southern Miss, located in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, has taken a more active role inside East Texas since head coach Jay Hopson arrived in January of 2016.

Centers marks the Golden Eagles’ eighth attempt to land a rising senior from the region.

Hopson led Southern Miss to a 6-6 regular season record last year and ended the year on a high note with a New Orleans Bowl win. The Golden Eagles went 1-1 against Southeastern Conference competition with a season-opening win at Kentucky and a midseason loss to LSU while posting a 4-4 record against their Conference USA peers.

Centers participated at the fifth annual ETSN Combine at APEC in Tyler on May 21. Before standing out during position-specific one-on-one drills, Centers finished second among offensive linemen with 13 bench reps of 225 pounds.

The Eagles' lineman helped guide Tatum to a 7-3 regular season record and a Class 4A Division II bi-district playoff appearance as a junior under first-year coach Craig Barker. Tatum went winless the season beforehand.

Centers will first become eligible to sign with any program that offers him in December.
