Two weeks into the 2013 season, the Tatum Eagles have allowed a total of six points.

Tatum won 21-6 at Arp in a season-opener before this past Friday's 45-0 home shutout of Winnsboro, which was fueled by an attacking defense that scored twice.

One of those defensive touchdowns came from senior safety Klifton Willis. The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder had six tackles and two interceptions, including one that he took to the house from 28 yards during the Eagles' 45-point victory.

For his big performance in the blowout win, Willis is the ETSN.fm/Dairy Queen Defensive Player of the Week.

Willis has started the 2013 season with a bang.

His two-interception performance against Winnsboro was his second in a row after he picked off two passes in the 15-point win at Arp. Willis enters Friday night's game at Pleasant Grove with 11 tackles, four interceptions, one pass breakup, and one defensive touchdown.

Willis was one of several Eagles who had big defensive performances vs. Winnsoboro, which features a ball-control running game that allows opponents to rack up a lot of tackles. For the second consecutive week, junior linebacker Kyshaun Smith recorded 16 tackles. Senior linebacker Demetrius Hill had 14 tackles, two for loss, and returned a blocked field-goal attempt 82 yards for a touchdown.

Junior linebacker Devon Boyd added 10 tackles, four for loss, and one sack, while senior defensive tackle Keaton Blanton had 12 tackles, one for loss, and forced a fumble. Fellow senior tackle Collin Gage had 11 tackles, two for loss, and one sack. Junior defensive back Jordan Nelson had 13 tackles, and Casey Norton had 10 tackles and one sack.
