One of the most underrated East Texas recruits in the 2017 class picked up his third Division I scholarship offer on Monday.

Tatum senior TE/DE Shay Rodgers (6-4, 240) reported an offer from Northwestern State on Twitter.

Rodgers (6-4, 240) previously received FCS opportunities from Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern of the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

While Rodgers said Prairie View is interested in him at tight end, both Texas Southern and Northwestern State are recruited him as a defensive end.

Northwestern State, located in Natchitoches, La., competes in the Southland Conference. The Demons finished 2016 with a 1-10 record under head coach Jay Thomas, who just wrapped up his third season at the helm.

Rodgers and his Tatum teammates rebounded from an 0-10 finish in 2015 to reach the playoffs this past year. The Eagles were 7-4, falling to Gladewater in the bi-district round of the postseason.

Like all senior high school football prospects, Rodgers will become eligible to sign with any school that offers him in February.
