TCU Offers Longview’s Ja’Mycal Hasty + Gilmer’s Kris Boyd

A talent-laden TCU camp in Kilgore on Wednesday resulted in a couple of offers going out to two of East Texas' top football players in the 2015 class.

Longview running back Ja'Mycal Hasty and Gilmer running back/cornerback Kris Boyd each received an offer from TCU, which held a camp at Kilgore High School. Horned Frogs head coach Gary Patterson was in attendance.

The offer is Hasty's second. The 5-foot-9, 181-pound tailback also has an offer from Texas Tech. Hasty will likely take over Longview's starting running back spot after the graduation of Lamar signee Tory White, who ran for more than 1,200 yards in 2012. Hasty ran 338 yards and five touchdowns as a sophomore, including a 16-carry, 102-yard performance in the Lobos' 57-25 second-round playoff blowout of Dallas Jesuit.

Hasty won the running backs MVP and Overall Offensive MVP awards at the ETSN.fm Football Recruiting Combine at APEC training facility in Tyler on May 19.

TCU is the first school to offer the 6-foot, 175-pound Boyd, who has mainly been recruited as a defensive back so far despite a huge sophomore season at running back. Boyd ran for 1,276 yards and 19 touchdowns on 161 carries for an average of 7.9 yards per carry. He also caught 20 passes for 226 yards and two touchdowns.
