It's been more than three months since Texas High 2018 receiver Tevailance Hunt announced his commitment to Kansas.

That hasn't stopped other schools from pursuing.

Hunt (6-2, 180) reported via Twitter on Friday night that TCU has offered him, making the Horned Frogs the 17th Division I FBS team to do so.

The Texas High standout was in Fort Worth participating at TCU's summer camp Friday evening.

TCU is the third Big 12 program to offer Hunt. In addition to Kansas and TCU, he has been targeted by Oklahoma State.

The Horned Frogs have now offered seven East Texans in the 2018 class, and hold a commitment from Van offensive tackle Kris Dike.

Hunt served as Texas High’s second-leading receiver with 701 yards and 10 touchdowns on 36 receptions in 2016. He helped Texas High to a 10-0 regular season, its first since 2006.

This season, Hunt will be paired with first-year starting quarterback Coltin Clack. The new signal-caller already owns Division I offers from Florida Atlantic, SMU and Southern Miss without a varsity start.

The Tigers will be coached by first-year boss Gerry Stanford, who was hired to replace longtime Texas High head coach Barry Norton, who moved to crosstown rival Arkansas High during the offseason.

Stanford's previous head coaching stops included White Oak and, most recently, Flower Mound Marcus.

TCU went 6-7 last season in its first campaign without Heisman Trophy candidate Trevone Boykin at quarterback. The season ended with a loss to Georgia in the Liberty Bowl.

Boykin’s final TCU team, in 2015, finished second in the Big 12 Conference and closed the year ranked seventh in the final Associated Press poll.

Horned Frogs head coach Gary Patterson has seen ups and downs before, particularly since joining the Big 12 in 2012. The last time TCU finished with a sub-.500 record under Patterson, back in 2013, the next team recorded a 12-1 season and tied for the Big 12 championship.

Patterson owns a 149-54 record as the Horned Frogs’ leader through 16 full seasons. Six of his teams closed campaigns ranked 10th or better in at least one of the two major polls.

Hunt will first become eligible to sign with any Division I school that offers him in December.
