It should comes as no surprise that No. 3 Tenaha enters this week's District 11-A Division II opening weekend as the league's clear favorite. After all, Tenaha returned 20 starters from last season's state finalist.

On top of that, the district's remaining four members have struggled to say the least.

Mount Enterprise, which has gone at least three rounds deep in the playoffs in each of the last three seasons, is only 2-4 on the year. And Evadale, Burkeville and Sabine Pass are all 0-5 to begin the season.

Tenaha entered district a season ago with a 2-4 record, but the Tigers have dominated its non-district foes in 2013 with the only loss a 17-10 defeat to Class 2A Garrison, which is 6-0.

The question isn't will Tenaha win the district, but rather will anyone in the league play the Tigers to within 30 points. Last season, Tenaha outscored its 11-A D-II counterparts by a combined score of 169-60.

The bad news for the rest of the district: Tenaha may be even better than it was last season.
