Trai Gardner is making people take notice.

The Tenaha defensive back shined both offensively and defensively this past week in a 60-22 victory against Burton. On defense, he recorded two interceptions, including one which he returned 96 yards for a touchdown. He added fumble recovery and a pass break up to his stat line.

For his efforts, he is the ETSN.fm + Dairy Queen Defensive Player of the Week. He follows San Augustine's Kris Wade, who took the award in Week 15.

Gardner and Tenaha have been rolling in the playoffs. The Tigers have won each game by an average of more than 50 points. They will get Muenster at 11 a.m. on Thursday in the state championship at AT&T stadium.
