MCKINNEY—In a shootout, Texas High couldn't reload quick enough to fend off McKinney North, dropping its second straight District 7-5A Division I game, 47-44, Friday at McKinney ISD Stadium.

The teams combined for 872 yards of offense, but the Bulldogs took over after the Tigers scored with four minutes left and never relinquished the ball.

North rushed 68 times for 364 yards, led by Hunter Chae's 27 rushes for 191 yards and three TDs and Emanuel Fincher's 35 carries for 151 yards and two TDs.

Dillon Markiewicz threw a pair of late scores to Sean Monsour for the Bulldogs (4-2, 1-1).

Coltin Clack tossed five touchdowns for the Tigers (2-4, 0-2), connecting twice with Myles Washington, who had six grabs for 143 yards. Clack threw for 361 yards and also rushed for a score.

The Tigers found success in the passing game late in the first half, Washington taking a pass and racing 55 yards for a touchdown and Mason Jones catching a 64-yard bomb for another Texas High touchdown just before intermission to make it 19-17 Bulldogs at the break.

Clack was 10-of-17 passing for 176 yards, and North bottled up the Texas running game for negative-seven yards on 12 carries before halftime.

North rushed 36 times for 151 yards, with Chae rushing for touchdowns of 33 and 4 yards to stake the home team to a 12-3 lead just 10 seconds into the second quarter.

North's Emanuel Fincher added a 1-yard leap for a TD, sandwiched between the scoring catches by Washington and Jones.

The Tigers had a scoring opportunity between Chae's touchdown runs, following a 44-yard kickoff return by Chris Sutton, driving to the Bulldog 4. However, the ball was fumbled at the 1 and recovered by North's defense for a touchback, and 12 plays later Chae had his second TD.

Texas High will next face Mesquite Poteet at 7 p.m. Friday in Texarkana.
