Texas Tech Offers Newton’s Tamauzia Brown

The recruiting train keeps making stops in Newton, and another college officially made an offer to another Eagles standout on Wednesday.

Newton 2019 ATH Tamauzia Brown reported an offer from Texas Tech via Twitter.

Brown (6-1, 175) now has 11 Division I FBS scholarship offers, the most of any player in East Texas' 2019 recruiting class, one ahead of teammate and RB Darwin Barlow and Lufkin DT Carl Williams.

Texas Tech is the fourth school from the Big 12 Conference to offer Brown, joining Baylor, Oklahoma State, and TCU. The Red Raiders also have offers out to Whitehouse WR Cameron Cantrell and Jefferson WR T.Q. Jackson in the 2019 cycle.

Brown plays cornerback and receiver for the Eagles, who went 15-0 and won the Class 3A Division II state championship in 2017. He finished as East Texas' interceptions leader with 12, while also posting a combined 1,432 yards rushing and receiving and 18 total touchdowns.

Texas Tech just finished its fifth season under head coach Kliff Kingsbury. The Red Raiders went 6-7 in 2017, reaching a bowl game for the third time in the Kingsbury era.

Brown, like all juniors, can first sign with any team that offers him in December 2018.
