Three of East Texas' top softball players competed in a national event this past weekend in California.

Rusk's Sydnee Littlejohn, Lufkin Hudson's Kelsee Selman, and Huntington's Erica Wright played in the three-day So Cal Athletics softball tournament in Los Alamitos, Calif.

The event brings 12 of the nation's best club softball teams to one tournament.

Littlejohn, an Alabama signee, played in the tournament with the Texas Glory, which is from McKinney, while Selman, an LSU signee, played with the Wichita (Kan.) Mustangs. Wright, who is committed to Texas and has another year of high school softball ahead of her, played with the Texas Impact from Houston.

During the 2013 high school softball seaosn, Littlejohn went 24-5 in the circle with a 0.41 earned run average and 315 strikeouts. She hit .442 with three home runs and 28 RBIs.

Selman led Hudson to its second consecutive Class 3A state championship. She went 35-5 with a 0.89 ERA, 489 strikeouts, and 34 walks in 267 2/3 innings. She hit .394 with 12 homers, 49 RBIs, 10 doubles, and 34 runs scored.

Wright was 14-5 with a 0.96 ERA, 278 strikeouts, and 44 walks in 124 innings. At the plate, Wright hit .589 with 13 RBIs.
