CARTHAGE -- The Bulldogs got a big win Thursday at the expense of Pleasant Grove, 5-1, in a non-district game.

Carthage pitcher Blaine Tomlin struck out one batter while allowing four hits in a 53-pitch, complete game win that lasted an hour and 22 minutes.

Hunter Townsend batted 3-for-3 and recorded two RBIs. Anthony Chhor hit a two-RBI double.

Troy Davis went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Sethe Ballenger and K.J. Harkrider also recorded base hits in the game.

Carthage (8-7) will host Center on Tuesday. Pleasant Grove (12-2) is back in action today on the road against Atlanta.

 

Brook Hill Run-Rules Shelton

DALLAS -- Six-run first and fifth innings in addition to runs scored in every frame in between lifted Bullard Brook Hill to a 16-1 win against Dallas Shelton in TAPPS Division 4A District 2.

The game ended under the mercy rule after five innings.

Blake Maddox, who batted 3-for-4, led the Guard with four RBIs. Jace Kuechle followed closely with three RBIs.

Ryan Cox earned an abridged, complete game win. He allowed five hits and one run.

Brook Hill hosts Tyler Grace Community on Tuesday.

 

Elkhart Falls To Buffalo

BUFFALO -- Buffalo capitalized on a handful of Elkhart miscues in the second inning and squeaked out a 2-1 win in District 21-3A action.

Tanner Tutt took the loss despite only allowing two hits.

Trent Huff led the Elks at the plate with two of the team's three hits. He recorded a double and RBI single.

Elkhart travels to Onalaska on Tuesday.
