FORNEY -- The second-ranked Whitehouse Wildcats earned an 8-1 win over Dallas Christian on Thursday at the Forney Tournament.

Peyton Conser earned the win on the mound, allowing one run on two hits with four strikeouts and two walks in six innings. Kyle Webb pitched a scoreless seventh to finish things off.

Coleman Patterson had two hits, including a double and four RBIs to lead Whitehouse (2-0) offensively. Nate Brooks reached base three times and scored three runs, while Patrick Mahomes went 1-for-2 with a triple and reached base in all four plate appearances.

Chapel Hill Wins Twice in Arp

ARP -- The Chapel Hill Bulldogs collected a pair of wins Thursday at the Arp Tournament -- defeating Winona 5-0 and Kennard 12-3.

In the win over Winona, Andrew Black and Braden Nelson each had two hits and two RBIs to lead the Bulldogs (7-1) at the plate. Zack Walters also had two hits and scored twice.

Peyton Richardson was dominant on the mound, striking out 12 in 6 2-3 shutout innings. He allowed five hits and walked four.

Pat Day doubled twice and had two RBIs to lead Chapel Hill against Kennard. Nelson also had two hits and drove in two in the big win. Black went 3-for-4 and scored four runs, while Carson Epifano had three hits and scored three times.

Jacob Melton got the win, pitching two scoreless and hitless innings of relief with five strikeouts. He relieved Walters, who allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits with six strikeouts and five walks in four innings.

Chapel Hill continues action in Arp on Friday against Mineola and West Rusk.

Spring HIll, Athens Tie in Lindale Tournament

LINDALE -- The Spring Hill Panthers and Athens Hornets battled to a 3-3 tie Thursday at the Lindale Tournament in a game stopped after six innings because of the drop-dead time limit.

Waylon McFadin led Spring Hill at the plate with three hits, an RBI and a run scored. Colton Hopkins tripled and drove in two, Nathan Methvin also tripled, while Cameron Copeland doubled as part of the game.

Methvin got the start on the mound for the Panthers. He allowed two earned runs with three strikeouts and a walk in five innings.

Carthage Goes 2-0 in Hallsville

HALLSVILLE -- The Carthage Lady Dawgs earned a pair of wins Thursday at the Hallsville Tournament -- defeating Elysian Fields 3-0 and White Oak 12-5.

In the win over Elysian Fields, Samantha Clakeley was dominant in the circle with 11 strikeouts in six hitless innings. Kacey Maines was 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored, Teah Reese was 2-for-4 with a run, Ashleigh Edge went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, Marissa Snow had two hits and Jordyn Morgan chipped in with a hit and an RBI.

Brooklyn Peace led Carthage in the rout of White Oak. In the circle, she allowed two earned runs on five hits with three strikeouts and two walks in four innings. At the plate, Peace went 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Morgan Davis was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored and Morgan Alexander had two hits, including a double.
