TYLER -- The Sulphur Springs Wildcats used a five-run fourth inning to propel them to an 11-8 win over Nacogdoches on Thursday at the Rose City Classic.

Brennan Brock, who finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored, highlighted the big inning with a three-run double that gave Sulphur Springs a 9-4 lead. Ben Brooks was 2-for-2 with three RBIs, two walks and two stolen bases, while Carson Hicks drove in a run as part of a 3-for-4 performance at the plate.

Alex Burney also chipped in for the Wildcats by scoring three runs, reaching base on an error, walk and hit by pitch.

Nacogdoches was led in defeat by Hunter McClellan, who went 3-for-4 with a double, RBI and three runs scored. Bryce Matthews was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs, while Reed Watson had two hits, scored a run and stole a base.

Sulphur Springs continues play at the Rose City Classic against Carthage at 12:15 p.m. Friday, while Nacogdoches faces Lufkin at 4:45 p.m.

Atlanta Rolls Past Sulphur Springs

TYLER -- The Atlanta Rabbits scored six runs in the fourth and three more in the seventh to take an 11-6 win over Sulphur Springs on Thursday at the Rose City Classic.

Logan Vise was 4-for-5 with a double, RBI and two runs scored to lead Atlanta at the plate. Chase Musgrove was 3-for-5 with two RBIs, two runs and two steals, while Garrison McCord and Zach Marsh each were 2-for-4 with two RBIs as the Rabbits pounded out 18 hits.

Jase Flowers chipped in by going 3-for-4 with a double, while Clayton Hancock had two hits with an RBI and run scored in Atlanta's offensive explosion.

Brennan Brock led Sulphur Springs with a 3-for-4 performance, while Ethan Phillips and Tyler Williams each had a hit and two RBIs in the losing effort.

Carlisle Captures Pair of Wins

PRICE -- The Carlisle Indians began their own tournament with a pair of wins Thursday -- 2-1 over Tyler East Texas Christian and 9-0 vs. West Rusk.

Caleb Colley struck out 11 and allowed just one hit in five innings to lead the Indians past ETCA. Zach Brightwell and Kolton Heim had the RBIs -- both in the first inning -- for Carlisle, while Ty Baker finished 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Brightwell tossed a five-inning, one-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts in the victory over West Rusk. Heim was 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs, while Colley went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Indians at the plate. Baker finished the game with two hits and two runs scored.

Carlisle (3-0) resumes tournament play at 3:30 p.m. Saturday against an opponent to be determined.
