Thursday Basketball Roundup: Chapel Hill Girls Remain Unbeaten + More

NEW CHAPEL HILL -- The Chapel Hill Lady Bulldogs remained unbeaten on the young season with a 74-21 rout of Shelbyville on Thursday.

Mykaela Alford led the way for Chapel Hill (4-0) with 23 points. April Walker added 15 points, Princess Suell had 13, and Daija Maddox finished with 10 points.

Chapel Hill's season resumes Friday against Cushing.

Tyler Grace Still Perfect

ELKHART -- The Tyler Grace Lady Cougars stayed unbeaten with a pair of wins at the Slocum Tournament on Thursday.

Grace (5-0) defeated Brookeland, 54-35, and followed that up with a 45-32 defeat of Pollok Central.

In the win over Central, Addie Daughtry led the way with 16 points. Parker Daughtry added 12 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Jordan Tauscher had nine points, while Emily Edwards contributed eight points.

Rusk Opens Season Victoriously

DIANA -- The Rusk Eagles began the season with a 63-35 rout of Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill in the New Diana Tournament on Thursday.

Jacquez Cook paced Rusk (1-0) with 26 points. Antonio Tilley added 15 points, while Trevor Lee finished with 11.

Rusk's season continues at the New Diana Tournament on Friday.
