CANTON -- The No. 3 Bullard Lady Panthers dominated on the first day of the Canton Tournament, defeating Athens 61-19 and seventh-ranked Chapel Hill, 66-41.

Lexi Abercrombie led Bullard (13-1) with 24 points against Chapel Hill. Lexi Kirgan and Bridgette Taylor added 12 points apiece, while Brittany Hinton and Nikki Johnson chipped in with eight and seven points, respectively.

Against Athens, Abercrombie poured in 23 points to lead the way. Kirgan and Taylor finished with 13 points apiece, while Hinton added six in the 42-point victory.

No. 21 Winona Opens Tournament With Big Win

WINONA -- The 21st-ranked Winona Ladycats opened their tournament with a 63-17 rout of Tyler Lee's JV on Thursday.

Kawaii Gordon led Winona (9-0) with 21 points, 10 rebounds, six steals and five assists. Kamya Moore added nine points and eight steals, Shay Virgil had two points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Darrisha Crawford chipped in with seven points and seven steals.

Other scores from the Winona Tournament on Thursday were: White Oak 62, John Tyler JV 32; Quitman 40, Marshall JV 26; Winona JV 33, Rusk JV 31; Rusk 33, Sabine 20.

Pittsburg Tops Beckville At Hughes Springs Tourney

HUGHES SPRINGS -- The Pittsburg Lady Pirates picked up a 53-27 win over Beckville on Thursday during first-day action at the Hughes Springs Tournament.

Denasia Watson led Pittsburg with an 11-point effort, while Hannah McElhaney finished with 10 points.

Summer Dennis paced Beckville with seven points.

Marshall Remains Perfect on Season

SHREVEPORT, La. -- The Marshall Mavericks remained unbeaten on the season with a 92-40 rout of Anahuac on Thursday during action at the Shreveport Huntington Tournament.

Tiandre Jackson-Young paced Marshall with 26 points. Jay McKnight added 20 points, while Shimar Jones finished with 10.

The win improved the Mavericks to 6-0 on the year.

No. 10 San Augustine Overcomes Palestine Westwood

HUNTINGTON -- The 10th-ranked San Augustine Wolves earned a 63-52 win Thursday over Palestine Westwood on the first day of the Huntington Tournament.

Jarvis Smith led San Augustine with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Dez Randle added 16 points, while JaMikel Roberts finished with eight points and 10 boards.

With the win, San Augustine moved to 3-0 on the season.

Fifth-Ranked Laneville Collects Two Easy Wins

MOUNT ENTERPRISE -- The No. 5 Laneville Yellow Jackets recorded a pair of blowout wins Thursday on the first day of the Mount Enterprise Tournament.

Laneville took a 96-36 win over host Mount Enterprise and defeated Garrison, 89-37.

Donta Harris led Laneville (6-0) over Mount Enterprise with 36 points and four assists. Ty Johnson added 19 points, 10 boards, three blocks, six steals and four assists. Kendrick Anderson chipped in with 14 points, 13 rebounds and four assists.

Against Garrison, Harris led the way with 17 points. He was followed by Ladarius Arnett (16 points), Tra Alexander (15) and Tiarel Franklin (10).

Laneville continues play in the Mount Enterprise Tournament at 2:45 p.m. Friday against Timpson.

Hughes Springs Goes 1-1 in Tournament

HUGHES SPRINGS -- The Hughes Springs Mustangs split their two games Thursday at their own tournament.

Hughes Springs defeated Beckville 46-37, but suffered a 75-49 loss to Liberty-Eylau's JV.

Hayden Smith led the Mustangs against Beckville with 15 points, while Michael Harris finished with 12 in the winning effort. Blake Walker's 12 points paced the Mustangs in their loss to Liberty-Eylau's JV.
