It's always interesting when Bullard Brook Hill and Tyler Grace Community meet on the gridiron.

In recent years, this game has had a huge say in TAPPS Division II, District 2's district championship race.

This Week 11 contest at Grace's Clyde-Perkins Stadium will be important for the Guard, the Cougars or someone else in the district, and it's what we see as the 24th-best game of the entire East Texas regular season slate.

Three teams tied for fourth place in the district last season with Brook Hill getting the nod.

The Guard bring back 12 starters to Grace's six, but that doesn't tell the full story. The quarterback duel will be a fun one to watch.

Athletic Cougars quarterback Braydon Stone did a good job covering for now-graduated quarterback Christopher Wilhelmi through the first half of the season as Wilhelmi nursed back from a preseason injury.

Hood Taylor is back for Brook Hill after a 1,376-yard season through the air.

Both squads also have solid lead running backs returning for more action.

Grace's Uchenna Uduma put up more than 1,300 yards last season. Brook Hill's Jeremiah McGowen platooned last season and should be the main guy this season.

Big offensive norms are the norm in this district.

Brook Hill has six defenders returning to bog down opponents' numbers. Grace has a great history of defense and has proven talent in the secondary ahead of the season.

Whether it's Brook Hill, Grace or another team hoping one of those two squads can break its own late-season tie, this game will be very important.
