It doesn't come any tougher than District 8-3A Division I in East Texas, and the Oct. 12 meeting between new district foes White Oak and West Rusk could have major playoff implications.

The Week 7 matchup from Bruce Bradshaw Stadium in New London checks in at No. 21 on ETSN.fm's list of the top 25 games of 2018.

Aside from White Oak and West Rusk, 8-3A D-II is also home to Tatum and Gladewater, who both moved down from Class 4A, Mineola, Winnsboro, and Sabine.

White Oak won a district championship last season but must replace 14 starters from 2017, including dynamic dual-threat quarterback Heath Hood. Running back Bo Reddic, a 1,400-yard rusher last season, figures to be the focal point on the Roughnecks' offense this season.

West Rusk won 10 games and went three rounds deep in 3A Division II last year, but has a few holes to fill on defense, including one left by defensive end and Texas A&M signee Tyree Wilson.

The Raiders' offensive tiro of Lajavius Harper, Jaylon Garland, and DJ Hart is as good as any in the district.
