NEW CHAPEL HILL -- The Lady Bulldogs needed every one of Daija Maddox's 25 points to get past Tyler Lee, 58-56, Tuesday in New Chapel Hill.

Maddox hit the game's lone 3-pointer in addition to leading all players in scoring.

April Walker also reached double-digits for Chapel Hill in the win. She scored 15 points.

Jakayla Bowie scored a team-best 19 points for the Lady Raiders. Erin Brinkley put up 11 points in the effort.

The Lady Bulldogs will resume play Thursday in Cushing's tournament. Lee will host Longview at 6 p.m. Friday.

 

Tyler Grace Community Rallies Against Colleyville Covenant

COLLEYVILLE -- Tyler Grace Community's offense erupted in the third quarter of Tuesday's game against Colleyville Covenant for a 63-53 road win.

The Lady Cougars outscored Covenant, 20-5, in the third period to finally get all the way past a rough first quarter. Covenant opened the game with a 23-11 lead after eight minutes of play, but it had its lead trimmed to 33-28 at the break.

Adie Daughtry led three Grace players in double digits with 31 points. Jordan Tauscher and Parker Daughtry scored 16 and 12 points, respectively.

The Lady Cougars will be back in action at 9:20 a.m. Thursday for a game against Brookland in Slocum's tournament.

 

Winona Blasts Fruitvale

WINONA -- Nichole Garrett scored 22 points to help guide Winona past Fruitvale, 68-19.

Lexi Lacy and Randaysha Hanson recorded double-doubles in the win. Lacy recorded 10 assists to go along with 18 points while Hanson had 12 steals to 10 points.

Mallori Shacklett also got into the double digits on the scoreboard with 12 points.

The Lady Wildcats will next host Rusk on Friday.

Lindale Downs Tyler All Saints

LINDALE -- The Eagles made a big splash in their opening game with a 64-57 win against a perennially strong Tyler All Saints Program.

Senior guard Jordan Gray led the way with 26 points. Laettner Greenhill, named after Christian Laettner, turned in 19 points in the victory.

Lindale will visit Bullard on Friday. The Trojans next travel to Austin to participate in the Brentwood Tournament from Thursday through Saturday.

 

Pollock Central Opens With Win At Slocum

ELKHART  -- Pollock Central topped Slocum, 68-45, to start its season with a victory against the host team at the Slocum Tournament.

Clifton scored a game-best 20 points for the Bulldogs. Dewitz added 13 points.

Jace Rains-Love put up a team-best 13 points for Slocum.

Central will play their next match in the tournament Thursday.
