ARP -- Jordan Tauscher continued her impressive early season debut for Tyler Grace Community with a team-best 25 points in a 66-42 win at Arp.

Tauscher, a freshman, scored one 3-pointer in the game.

Addie Daughtry was not far behind with 20 points. Parker Daughtry rounded out Lady Cougars double-digit scorers with 11 points.

Arp Tracie Greed paced the Lady Tigers with 15 points. Kearra Geter scored 11 points.

Grace will take on Lindale next Tuesday for its next game.

 

Beckville Downs Overton

OVERTON -- Beckville is off to a solid start following a regional championship match volleyball appearance just two weeks ago. The basketball team is 2-0 following Tuesday's 42-21 at Overton.

Kimber Wesner led the squad with 15 points, including a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line. She also tied with Peyton Jones for the team lead in rebounds with six through the game.

Madi Mize scored a team second-best nine points and recorded four of the team's 11 total assists.

Beckville will host Waskom on Tuesday.

Chapel Hill Turns In Impressive Numbers In Win Against Henderson

NEW CHAPEL HILL -- Three Chapel Hill players scored more than 20 points each in the Lady Bulldogs' 84-58 win against Henderson.

Daija Maddox scored 24 points, including three successful 3-point shots, in the contest while Mykaela Alfred and April Walker both finished with 21 points.

However, Henderson's Joy Williams scored a game-best 26 points in defeat to lead eight Lady Lions with points.

Henderson will host Crockett on Saturday. Chapel Hill travels to Palestine on Tuesday.

 

Boys Basketball

Troup's Astin Greer Picks Up First Win

TROUP -- The Tigers put together a true team effort to give rookie head coach Astin Greer his first career win Tuesday, a 43-31 victory against Quitman.

Wesley Ross led Troup with 10 points. Callen Eastman and Jared Jackson followed with nine and eight points, respectively. Each of those players had at least one trey in the win.

Quitman will travel to Eustace on Monday. Troup will be on the road Saturday for a game at Chapel Hill.

 

Chad Taylor Helps Elkhart Past Groveton

GROVETON -- Elkhart skated by Groveton, 64-44, with Chad Taylor's 25 points providing the difference.

But Taylor wasn't the only Elks player in double digits. Nick Gonzales put up 15 points in the game and C.J. Whitaker scored 10 points.

Groveton had two players score a team-best 14 points -- Anthony Chavez and Dawson Chumley.

Elkhart hosts Neches on Tuesday. Groveton will simultaneously host Joaquin.

 

Harmony Tops Como-Pickton

COMO -- Harmony had three players reach double-digit scoring and toppled Como-Pickton, 57-34.

Jacob Kimmen led the way with 16 points. He fell just shy of a double-double with eight boards and added five steals in addition to a block.

Dalton Brenner and Bentley Miner scored 12 apiece for Harmony.

Harmony will travel to Ore City on Tuesday. Como-Pickton also will be in action Tuesday at Union Grove following the Thanksgiving break.
