ATHENS -- Anthony Sanders came close to a triple-double in a huge performance Tuesday night to power Class 3A No. 12 Athens to an 80-57 district home win against Canton.

Sanders finished with 32 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, and five steals, while Ryan Jefferson made his own run at a triple-double with 19 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, and six steals.

Athens' Chris Jefferson added 10 points and nine rebounds. Teammate Courtland Lyons scored 13 points. Brad Wiggins led Canton with 21 points.

The win pushed Athens to 21-1 overall and 4-0 in district entering Friday's 7:30 p.m. home game against Van.

Sulphur Springs Downs Pine Tree

LONGVIEW -- Sulphur Springs won a defensive battle Tuesday at Pine Tree, beating the Pirates 45-33 in District 14-4A action.

Pine Tree's Dalvin Manns and Blake Adams scored 10 points apiece.

Three-Point Barrage Leads Waskom Past Elysian Fields

WASKOM -- Sixteen three-pointers fueled Waskom's 86-36 district rout of rival Elysian Fields on Tuesday night.

Eric Stephens III hit five three-pointers and led Waskom (9-5, 7-1) with 26 points, while Mike Reason hit five of his own from long distance to finish with 18 points. Kevin Johnson scored 16 points and Nigel Brown netted 13 points. Kaleb Haynes, who drilled three treys, finished with 12 points.

The loss dropped Elysian Fields to 2-6 in district.

Waskom hosts White Oak on Friday. The Wildcats beat White Oak in their first district meeting of the season.

Tatum Hammers New Diana

TATUM -- Robbie Rockwell hit six three-pointers to lead six Eagles in double figures in No. 5 Tatum's 131-25 district rout of New Diana on Tuesday evening.

Rockwell finished with 24 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals to lead Tatum, which improved to 22-4 overall and 8-0 in district play.

Tatum's Jahee Johnson had 21 points and eight rebounds. Donovan Centers added 18 points, seven steals, four rebounds, and four assists, while Klifton Willis contributed 15 points, six steals, five rebounds, and five assists. Martin Williams finished with 15 points and Devonte Alexander scored 11.

Tatum's Chaston Brooks recorded nine points, seven assists, five rebounds, and five steals. Dameion Spears-Mitchell had seven points, six steals, five assists, and four boards. JaKoby Lee notched seven points, six rebounds, and two steals, while Casey Carr had five assists and five steals.

Tatum led 34-6 after one quarter and 65-12 at halftime. New Diana fell to 0-8 in district competition.

Troup Rolls Past Harmony

TROUP -- The Troup Tigers improved to 7-1 in District 18-2A play with a 60-33 win over Harmony on Tuesday night.

Brandon Hearon led Troup on the night with 12 points. Chance Selvidge added 10 points and Marcus Kincade finished with nine as 11 different Tigers found the scoring column.

Harmony (3-15, 1-7) was led by Austin Spurlock, who had 14 points, which included three 3-pointers. Levi Thompson added four points, eight rebounds and three steals in the losing effort.

No. 20 West Sabine Edges No. 8 San Augustine

SAN AUGUSTINE -- West Sabine stopped San Augustine from getting off a game-tying shot in the final six seconds Tuesday night to beat San Augustine 56-53 on the road in a district matchup of top 20 Class A Division I teams.

West Sabine outscored San Augustine 17-5 in the third quarter to lead 41-25 entering the fourth before the Wolves (19-8, 3-1) stormed back and almost pulled off the comeback.

Dez Randle led San Augustine with 17 points, while Jarvis Smith and Jeremy Jenkins added 13 points and eight points, respectively.

Martin's Mill Cruises Past Beckville

MARTIN'S MILL -- Davis Moore had another huge performance from beyond the arc to highlight Martin's Mill's 87-38 district win Tuesday night at home against Beckville.

Moore hit seven three-pointers to finish with a game-high 32 points as the Mustangs improved to 20-5 overall.

Logan Jenkins added four triples and 18 points, while Hunter Conway scored 12 points. Dylan Weatherford chipped in 10 points.

No. 9 Tenaha Rolls Past Gary

GARY -- The ninth-ranked Tenaha Tigers rolled to an 81-56 win over Gary on Tuesday in District 22-A Division I action.

Keontas Davis led Tenaha (10-3, 4-0) with 25 points. Tyler Davison added 22 points in the winning effort.

Josh Bowen paced Gary (14-6, 3-1) with 24 points, while Colton Coleman finished with 17.

Chapel Hill Tops Henderson

NEW CHAPEL HILL -- Shay Ross scored 16 points and Kadeja Warfield added 12 to lead Chapel Hill's 53-39 district home win vs. Henderson on Tuesday.

The win pushed Chapel Hill to 20-8 overall and 6-2 in District 16-3A play. Henderson fell to 0-8 in district.

Chapel Hill's Daijashnae Maddox and Kyia Moore scored nine points apiece.

No. 13 Canton Too Much For Athens

ATHENS -- The No. 13 Canton Eaglettes rolled to a 76-31 win over Athens in District 15-3A action Tuesday night.

Courtney Roberts led Canton (20-6, 5-1) with 17 points and four assists. Lilly Nelson added 10 points, while Dani Pruitt also had 10 points to go with five rebounds.

Athens fell to 0-6 in district play.

Pleasant Grove Edges Pittsburg

PITTSBURG -- The Pleasant Grove Lady Hawks remained unbeaten in District 13-3A with a 54-52 win over Pittsburg on Tuesday.

Renee Walker led Pleasant Grove (21-4, 6-0) with 16 points. Hayley Harp added 16 points, while Brette Wacha chipped in with 12 in the win.

Pittsburg (13-10, 3-3) was led by DeNasia Watson's 18 points. Shandrea Rhymes had 11 points and Ayanna Palmer finished with 10 in the losing effort.

Winona Overwhelms Arp

ARP -- The Winona Ladycats rolled to a 107-38 win over Arp on Tuesday in District 18-2A action.

Kawaii Gordon led Winona (17-4, 6-4) with 30 points and nine rebounds. Jamece Gulley added 22 points and nine steals, Mallory Shacklett had 11 points, while Bailey Daniels finished with 10 points and five rebounds.

Larisa Gordon chipped in with nine points, 11 assists and five steals as Winona had 10 players reach the scoring column.

No. 1 Martin's Mill Rolls by Beckville

MARTIN'S MILL -- Cheyenne Brown had another big night to lead top-ranked Martin's Mill to a 52-21 district victory Tuesday night against Beckville.

Brown scored a game-high 25 points to lead the way for the Lady Mustangs, who improved to 25-2 on the season entering Friday's 7:30 p.m. game at Carlisle.

Martin's Mill's Alyssa Pate scored eight points. Teammate Hailey Celsur added six. Kimber Wesner led Beckville with eight points.
