MABANK -- Bullard moved to 3-0 on the young season with a big, 60-27 win at Mabank.

Lexi Kirgan led the Lady Panthers with 21 points and was followed in double digits by Hannah Lloyd's 13 points and Kristen Chamberlain's 12 points.

Maddy Slayter, Lauren Zachry and Tracy Johnson rounded out scorers for Bullard in Tuesday's game

The Lady Panthers will hit the road to play in the Saltillo Tournament from Thursday through Saturday.

 

San Augustine Edges Carthage

SAN AUGUSTINE -- The Lady Wolves got a nice home win against Carthage on Tuesday, 46-41.

LaTavia Edwards recorded a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

DeAstiney Barnes had a second-best 12 points to round out double digit scorers.

LaJada Johnson recorded 12 boards and six points in the game.

San Augustine moved to 1-1 with the win.

The Lady Bulldogs will play Shelbyville next Tuesday. The Lady Wolves will play Cushing and Troup on Thursday in tournament play.

 

Hallsville Scratches Out A Win, Henderson Falls For First Time

HENDERSON -- Hallsville handed Henerson its first loss of the season Tuesday in a 56-46 victory.

Despite the loss, Ja'Keyah Stewart and Joy Williams had good days for the Lady Lions with 14 and 12 points apiece. Malisha Pegues recorded nine rebounds and added two points.

Jordan Boles hit two 3-pointers for the Henderson.

Hallsville stats were not submitted.

Henderson will travel to Gladewater for a game Friday. Hallsville will play Athens on Monday.

 

Kawaii Gordon Hangs 40 On Fruitvale

FRUITVALE -- Kawaii Gordon led Winona with 40 points, seven rebounds and three steals in a 64-54 win against Fruitvale.

Randayasha Hanson chipped in an additional 15 points for the Ladycats.

Winona will host Waskom on Saturday. Fruitvale returns home to take on Scurry-Rosser.

Boys Basketball

LONGVIEW -- Mason Hays led Pine Tree to a 56-36 win against crosstown rival Spring Hill.

Hays recorded 18 points, Joel Best scored 16 and a support cast chipped in another 21 points to down the Panthers.

The Pirates defense held no Spring Hill scorer to more than eight points.

Pine Tree (1-0) will host Whitehouse on Friday. The Panthers (0-1) will travel to Hallsville.
