TEXARKANA -- The Texas High Tigers ran away for an 87-72 win over Marshall in District 16-5A action Tuesday.

Texas High (14-7, 4-3) was led by Chris Reid, who finished with 18 points. Vonderic Stanley added 15 points, while Curtis Crump and Lavon Brown had 14 and 10 points, respectively.

Kris Dunn led all scorers with 27 points in the loss for Marshall (16-11, 2-5). Corteze Hurd added 20 points and 17 rebounds, while Carrington Love chipped in with 11 points.

Both teams next face Sulphur Springs. Texas High plays the Wildcats on the road next Tuesday, while Marshall hosts them on Friday night.

 

GIRLS

Gilmer Knocks Off Bullard

GILMER -- The Gilmer Lady Buckeyes completed a season sweep of rival Bullard with a 41-32 win Tuesday in District 15-4A competition.

Belynda Ray led Gilmer (25-3, 6-0) with 12 points. Kyla Grant added 11 points, while Destiny Brooks finished with eight.

Bullard (24-6, 4-2) was led in defeat by Lauren Zachry's nine points. Hanna Lloyd added eight points, while Sydney Foster finished with seven.

Each teams returns to action Friday. Gilmer travels to Spring Hill, while Bullard plays host to Chapel Hill.
