WHITEHOUSE -- Ryan Walls hit four 3-pointers in the third quarter, and that turned out to pretty much be the difference in the Wildcats' 63-53 win against fellow Class 5A opponent Forney.

Walls finished the game with a team-best 17 points. Isiah Clark got up there as well with 13 points and Colby Duhon rounded out double-digit Whitehouse scorers with 10 points.

The Wildcats elevated their early season record to 5-0.

Whitehouse will participate in Hungtinton's Coca Cola Classic from Thursday through Saturday.

 

 Neches Tops Elkhart

NECHES -- Elkhart had a tough time defending Neches' Bryson Barrett and fell, 65-51, on the road.

Barrett led all scorers with 24 points and played a big role in Neches' 18-11 pull away in the fourth quarter. It had been a 47-40 deficit for the Elks through three quarters of play.

Johnathan Simmons had a strong performance for Elkhart, however, with a team-best 18 points. Chad Taylor added 14 points in the losing effort.

Jose Carrizales finished second in scoring for Neches with 14 points. Neches' bench put up 20 combined points in the win.

The Elks will be back in action Thursday as hosts of the Elkhart Tournament.

Lindale Scrapes By Tyler Grace

TYLER -- McKenna Cox scored three 3-pointers for Lindale in the Lady Eagles' 35-24 win against Tyler Grace Community.

No players on either side hit double digits, but Lindale had nine players make the scoresheet to the Lady Cougars' five.

Cox scored nine points for the Lady Eagles to lead the way. Parker Daughtry put up nine points for Grace.

The Lady Eagles hit the road Thursday for competition in the Winnsboro Tournament. Grace also will be on the road Thursday as participants at the Frisco Legacy Christian Tournament.

 

Bullard Crushes Quitman

BULLARD -- The Lady Panthers opened a huge lead against Quitman and never looked back en route to a 66-24 victory Tuesday.

Abilene Christian forward signee Lexi Kirgan scored a team-best 19 points, mostly in the first quarter as Bullard built up a 21-5 lead.

Hannah Lloyd made four 3-point shots in the victory as part of 15 points. Kristen Chamberlain also reached double digits with 11 points.

Bullard will host Tyler Lee at 6 p.m. Friday.

 

Wesner's Double-Double Helps Beckville Past Waskom

WASKOM -- Kimber Wesner scored 15 points and recorded 17 rebounds to guide Beckville past Waskom, 43-14.

Wesner also had five assists and three steals in the game.

The Ladycats shot 43.6 percent from the line as a team and the bench chipped in 14 points.

Beckville will be back in action at 9 a.m. Thursday as competitors in Mount Enterprise's tournament. Waskom also will be on the road Thursday as part of the Big Sandy Tournament.

 

Winona Rolls Over All Saints

TYLER -- Ranaysha Hanson turned in an impressive performance for Winona in the Lady Wildcats' 62-27 win Tuesday against All Saints.

Hanson recorded eight assists, seven steals and five boards in addition to eight points in the victory.

Nichole Garrett paced Winona with 18 points. Mallori Shacklett scored 10 points and had five assists.

Winona will participate in Chapel Hill's tournament Thursday through Saturday. All Saints will host the Brookshire's Classic during the same timeframe.
