Frankston needed Malakoff to lose its regular season finale to have sole claim to the District 18-3A championship. Malakoff defeated Rice and also finished with a 13-1 record.

Both teams' lone district loss came against each other. Malakoff drew even in the standings with a 46-42 win last week.

Coaches from Frankston and Malakoff will meet on Wednesday to determine if the two teams will play a head-to-head game Friday for the district championship. An alternative option is flipping a coin and awarding the winner the league's first-place seed in the playoffs.
