BULLARD -- An 11-run second inning helped Bullard Brook Hill to a run-rule victory against district foe Tyler Bishop Gorman, 16-4, in TAPPS Division II, District 3 play.

Brooks Parham batted home four Guard players during the game and Logan Langford recorded three RBIs. Three other players knocked in two runs apiece, and the squad only stranded three runners on base all game.

Langford earned the win on the mound. He allowed three hits for four runs in four innings of work.

Gorman will try to shake the loss off today against Tyler King's Academy and then hosts Brook Hill on Friday.

Friday's game will be the Guard's next contest.

 

Carthage Moves To 5-0 In District

CENTER -- Teagan Barker, Addison Blissett and Carson Robertson all batted .500 to help Carthage down Center, 11-4, in District 16-4A action.

Barker and Kimberlyn Worsham both recorded two RBIs and two runs scored. Worsham batted 1 for 4.

Taylor Willis took the win in the circle while allowing nine hits and two earned runs. She fanned eight batters on the way to victory.

Carthage, ranked 17th in the Texas Girls Coaches Association's Class 4A poll and winners of 10 straight, has a big game Friday. It will host No. 23 Rusk.
