Tuesday Diamond Roundup: Brook Hill Boys Pound Grace + More

TYLER — Bullard Brook Hill put up a four-spot in the top of the fifth inning to ultimately run-rule Tyler Grace Community, 11-1, in TAPPS Division II, District 3 competition.

Reid Hill batted 2 for 4 and scored twice in the five-inning game to guide the Guard while starting pitcher Miguel Vega allowed one Grace run on four hits through four innings.

Josh Jenkins shut the door in the fifth with no margin for error. A Grace run would have extended the game the full seven innings.

Brooks Parham and Logan Fitzgerald recorded two RBIs each as Grace allowed nine earned runs.

Brook Hill hosts Prime Prep on Friday. Grace will try to bounce back while hosting Whitehouse.

CARTHAGE — Taylor Willis pitched a complete game and struck out six in Carthage’s 7-2 victory against Henderson.

The win elevated the Lady Dawgs to 4-0 in District 16-4A.

Addison Blissett and Chelcie Pierce both recorded two RBIs and scored a run. Carson Robertson batted a perfect 2 for 2 with a triple, walked once and scored once.

Carthage will be idle this weekend and resumes the league schedule April 4 at Center. Henderson hosts Center on Friday.
