HALLSVILLE -- The Hallsville Ladycats earned a 3-1 win over Carthage in non-district volleyball action Tuesday.

Hallsville handed Carthage a rare defeat, winning 25-23, 25-23, 22-25, 25-19.

Hallsville begins District 16-5A play at home against Sulphur Springs on Friday, while Carthage returns to action next Tuesday at home against Gilmer.

 

Gilmer Knocks Off Beckville

BECKVILLE -- The Gilmer Lady Buckeyes earned a 25-20, 20-25, 25-21, 25-18 victory over Beckville on Tuesday.

In the loss, Beckville (19-4) was led by Riley Seegers, who finished with eight kills, eight digs, a block, and an ace. Payton Jones added seven kills, 11 digs, and an ace, Kinley Blair had six kills, six digs, and one block, Hannah Humphries provided six kills and two digs, while Kinley Pepper registered 34 assists to go along with three kills and 12 digs.

Beckville begins District 16-3A play Friday at White Oak.

 

Quitman Rolls Past Van

QUITMAN -- The Quitman Lady Bulldogs took a 25-16, 25-22, 25-21 sweep from Van on Tuesday night.

Kaci Raley led the way for Quitman (16-7) with 15 kills, 12 digs, and two aces. Molly Tanner added 12 kills, 14 digs, seven aces, and one block, while Cammie Hicks dished out 27 assists and provided two digs.

Quitman begins the District 12-3A season Friday at home against Scurry-Rosser.

 

Emory Rains Takes Down Caddo Mills

CADDO MILLS -- The Emory Rains Ladycats earned a 25-19, 26-28, 25-17, 25-20 win over Caddo Mills on Tuesday.

Charlotte Bradshaw paced Rains (22-7) with 26 kills and two aces. Taylor Pruitt added six kills, Summer Nerkowski had five kills and three blocks, Shelbi Sheppard assisted on 35 points and chipped in with 19 digs, McKenna Hildebrant had six blocks and two aces, Delaney Hill recorded three blocks, and Elissa Elliott finished with a pair of aces.

Rains returns to action Sept. 16 at Bullard.
