CARTHAGE -- The Carthage Lady Dawgs began the volleyball season with a 25-19, 25-15, 25-18 sweep of Bullard on Tuesday.

Matti Doffitt led Carthage (1-0) with 10 kills and four blocks. Dede Pope added 10 kills, while Kim Worsham and Lexi Alexander teamed for 28 assists, and Courtney Edge and Addi Blissett combined for 25 digs.

Carthage plays at Sachse on Thursday.

 

Quitman Stops Tatum

QUITMAN -- The Quitman Lady Bulldogs opened the season with a 25-22, 24-26, 25-16, 25-14 win over Tatum on Tuesday.

Kaci Raley led the way for Quitman (1-0) with 24 kills, four blocks, and 10 digs. Madalyn Spears added 10 kills, a block, one ace, and 13 digs, while Molly Tanner finished with eight kills, one block, three aces, and 18 digs.

Cammie Hicks assisted on 37 points, and added a kill, an ace, and 12 digs.

Quitman is back in action Thursday at the Grandview Tournament.

 

Alba-Golden Downs Union Grove

UNION GROVE -- The Alba-Golden Lady Panthers got the volleyball season off to a winning start with a 25-20, 24-26, 25-21, 25-21 defeat of Union Grove on Tuesday.

Ginny Carson paced Alba-Golden (1-0) with 13 kills, three aces, and 10 digs. Kenzie Chadwick contributed 10 kills, Apsen Howard had 14 assists and 10 digs, while Bralee Littlejohn registered four aces.

Alba-Golden continues its season Friday at the Princeton Tournament.

 

Beckville Defeats Central Heights

NACOGDOCHES -- The Beckville Ladycats began the season with a 25-23, 25-16, 19-25, 25-16 win over Nacogdoches Central Heights on Tuesday.

Riley Seegers led Beckville (1-0) with 12 kills, two blocks, two aces, and two digs. Jordan Tondreau added nine kills and three digs, Hannah Humphries had eight kills and four digs, Miranda Mize contributed six kills, a block, and one digs, while Payton Jones chipped in with five kills and 14 digs.

Kinley Pepper finished with 31 assists to go with a kill, two aces, and three digs.

 

Carlisle Picks Up Season-Opening Win

PRICE -- The Carlisle Lady Indians opened the season with a 24-26, 25-15, 25-15, 25-14 win over Longview Christian Heritage on Tuesday.

Heather Craig led the Carlisle (1-0) attack with 12 kills, eight aces, and seven digs. Aubrey Hart added 10 kills and five blocks, Camdyn Gray had five kills, six aces, and 10 digs, while Jailin Kee registered 25 assists and eight digs.

Carlisle's season resumes Thursday in the Gary Tournament.
