LUFKIN -- The John Tyler Lady Lions remained perfect in District 16-5A play with a 25-17, 25-23, 14-25, 25-13 win over Lufkin on Tuesday night.

DeDe Rouge led John Tyler (11-7, 2-0) with 13 kills and 17 digs. Chenique Baxter added 11 kills and 19 digs, Shakendra Tilley had nine kills and five blocks, Jo Preston had nine kills, and Kandice Jackson chipped in with five kills and 10 digs.

John Tyler returns to action Friday at home against Nacogdoches.

 

Carthage Takes Down Gilmer

CARTHAGE -- The Carthage Lady Dawgs earned a 25-18, 20-25, 25-22, 25-15 victory over Gilmer on Tuesday night.

Alli Capps led Carthage with 15 kills and 10 digs. Marisah Ingram added 13 kills and four blocks, Faith Landrenoux had 11 kills, Kenzie Templeton dished out 40 assists, Kaitlyn Nutt led the defensive charge with 13 digs, while Bree Gwinn was 26-of-27 from the service line.

Carthage's season resumes next Tuesday at home against Tatum, while Gilmer hosts Henderson on Saturday afternoon.

 

Bullard Sweeps Rusk

RUSK -- The Bullard Lady Panthers earned a 25-19, 25-21, 25-18 sweep of Rusk on Tuesday night.

Mackenzie Fish led Bullard (16-14) with a career-high 22 kills to go along with nine digs and three aces. Kate Cole added 12 digs, Rachel Kelley had 24 assists, Mikaela Goode finished with 10 assists and two aces, McCall Cowart chipped in with three blocks, Kennedy Key had eight digs, and Katie Bell registered four kills.

Bullard continues its season next Tuesday in Center before beginning District 16-4A play next Saturday at Gladewater.

 

Eustace Falls In Five

EUSTACE -- The Eustace Lady Bulldogs dropped a five-set decision to Corsicana Mildred on Tuesday in District 18-3A action, 25-17, 24-26, 18-25, 25-22, 15-9.

Eustace was led in defeat by Kasey Lopez, who finished with nine kills and two aces. Michelle Gomez added eight kills and six assists, Marshall Padgett had four kills and three digs, Taylor Peebles provided four kills and five aces, and Abra Roberts led the team with 15 assists to go along with four aces.

Eustace returns to the court Friday at home against Malakoff.
