GILMER -- The Lindale Lady Eagles escaped with a five-set victory over Gilmer in non-district volleyball action Tuesday night.

Lindale squandered a two-set lead, but prevailed in the end for a 25-19, 25-18, 18-25, 18-25, 15-12 win.

Rhyan Rand led Lindale (7-2) with 16 kills, two blocks and 13 digs. Travicia Acy added 11 kills, eight blocks and five aces, McKenna Cox dished out 26 assists, and Baileigh Thurman chipped in with six kills.

Gilmer was led in defeat by Maci Ritter, who finished with 15 kills and 10 blocks. Christian Brown followed with 10 kills and 20 digs, Belynda Ray and Allie Fennell added 10 kills apiece, Destiny Brooks had 21 digs and three aces, and Michela Devendorf racked up 16 digs. The setting duo of Tanah Seely and Jaci Traylor combined for 42 assists.

Lindale participates in the Tyler Tournament on Thursday and Saturday, while Gilmer plays host to Mount Pleasant on Friday.

 

John Tyler Swept By Henderson

TYLER -- The Henderson Lady Lions earned a 25-9, 25-19, 25-22 sweep of John Tyler on Tuesday night at the Lions Den.

John Tyler coach Lemessa Derrett complimented her team's passing and setting, but added that the execution of attacks was lacking.

The Lady Lions, along with Tyler Lee, host the Tyler Tournament this weekend beginning Thursday.

 

Edgewood Knocks Off Eustace

EUSTACE -- The Edgewood Lady Bulldogs earned a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Eustace on Tuesday night, 17-25, 26-24, 25-20, 25-21.

Kasey Lopez sparked Eustace in the loss with eight kills and two assists. Michelle Gomez added seven kills and two aces, Mackenzie Abbott provided five kills and a pair of aces, Ashley Purselley finished with 10 aces, seven assists and two digs, Abra Roberts had 11 assists and three digs, and Grace Holcombe registered five aces and five digs.

Eustace's season continues this weekend at the Tyler Tournament.

 

Tyler All Saints Sweeps Ore City

TYLER -- The Tyler All Saints Lady Trojans took a 25-10, 25-23, 25-12 sweep of Ore City on Tuesday night.

Ferrell Clyde sparked All Saints with 14 kills. Frances Hackney added 22 assists an eight aces, while Foster Hackney had a team-best 17 digs.

All Saints returns to the court Tuesday at Van, while Ore City (5-5) participates in the Hughes Springs Tournament on Thursday before hosting Overton on Friday.

 

Beckville Rolls Past West Rusk

BECKVILLE -- Beckville cruised to a 25-10, 25-8, 25-9 sweep of West Rusk on Tuesday night.

Carley Lawhorn punctuated the dominating performance by serving on 15 consecutive points during the third game.

Beckville (12-3) travels to Bronte for the Showdown of Texas Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
