Tuesday Volleyball Roundup: Lindale, John Tyler Roll to Sweeps + More

LINDALE -- The Lindale Lady Eagles continued their strong start to the season with a 25-18, 25-17, 25-10 sweep of Tyler All Saints on Tuesday night.

Rhyan Rand led Lindale (6-1) with six kills to go along with 17 digs and two aces. Travicia Acy added three kills, five blocks and three aces, Kamryn Pilkinton provided four kills and two digs, Rajel Flores and Brittany Birdsong had nine digs apiece, and McKenna Cox dished out 10 assists.

The Lady Eagles' season continues Friday at home against Paris North Lamar.

John Tyler Records Sweep Of Kilgore

KILGORE -- The John Tyler Lady Lions cruised to a 25-21, 25-19, 25-18 sweep of Kilgore on Tuesday evening.

Shakendra Tilley led John Tyler with 10 kills to go along with a pair of aces. Donishia Rouge, Chenique Baxter and Johnetta Preston each had six kills, while Kandice Jackson provided a team-high 25 assists along with three aces.

The Lady Lions resume their season Thursday and Saturday at the Marshall Tournament.

Henderson Sweeps Dual Match

BIG SANDY -- The Henderson Lady Lions swept matches against Big Sandy and Alba-Golden on Tuesday night.

Henderson earned a 25-15, 25-12, 25-14 victory over Big Sandy, and followed that up with a 25-22, 25-13, 25-16 defeat of Alba-Golden.

Jordan Boles led Henderson in its win over Big Sandy with nine kills, three digs and two aces. Codie Whitehead added nine kills and three digs, Morgan Weaver finished with six kills and three blocks, while Tori Self racked up 21 assists.

In the victory over Alba-Golden, Boles again led the way with eight kills and three aces. Weaver added eight kills and a pair of aces, Whitehead chipped in with seven kills and three digs, Nakia McElhanon and Tamra Powell combined on seven kills, Baylee Bradley and Brooklyn Smith teamed for nine digs, and Self finished with 23 assists.

Henderson continues its season Thursday and Saturday at the Marshall Tournament.

No. 3 Troup Downs Rusk

TROUP -- The third-ranked Troup Tigers earned a 25-21, 25-21, 25-27, 25-23 win over Rusk on Tuesday night.

Troup (8-2) was led by Josee Ross, who finished with 18 kills, 18 digs and three blocks. Caitlyn Vickers added 23 assists, 18 digs, four kills, five aces and two blocks, Paeton Nolan had nine kills, nine digs and two blocks, Lana Ledford provided seven assists, four digs and four aces, Makayla Krueger chipped in with three kills and two blocks.

The Lady Tigers' season continues next Tuesday at home against Van.

Winona Sweeps Longview Trinity

WINONA -- The Winona Ladycats picked up a 25-12, 25-22, 25-7 sweep of Longview Trinity on Tuesday night.

Kawaii Gordon paced Winona with eight kills and five digs. Bailey Daniels finished with 13 assists and 12 aces, while Danita Timmons led the defense with five digs.

Winona's season resumes this weekend at the Eustace Tournament.

Beckville Rolls Past Elysian Fields

ELYSIAN FIELDS -- Beckville rolled to a 25-8, 25-19, 25-17 sweep of Elysian Fields on Tuesday evening.

Carley Lawhorn led Beckville (7-2) with 11 kills. Cassie Elizondo added five kills, Kassidy Alexander came through for 19 assists, three kills and four aces, while Carson Blair finished with four kills, eight digs and three aces.

Beckville takes part in the Big Sandy Tournament on Thursday and Saturday.
