LINDALE -- The Lindale Lady Eagles secured a tie for the District 16-5A championship with a 25-23, 25-12, 25-23 sweep of John Tyler in the regular-season finale Tuesday night.

Rhyan Rand led Lindale (25-10, 11-1) with 13 kills and 16 digs. Travicia Acy added 12 kills, two blocks and four digs, Kamryn Pilkington had three kills, two blocks and six digs, while Heather McLaughlin finished with three kills and three blocks.

McKenna Cox dished out 26 assists and had five digs, while the duo of Brittany Birdsong and Rajel Flores combined for 28 digs.

Lindale will play an undetermined opponent in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs early next week.

 

Whitehouse Sweeps Lufkin

WHITEHOUSE -- The Whitehouse LadyCats made sure it kept pace with Lindale for the co-District 16-5A title with a 25-11, 25-12, 25-12 sweep pf Lufkin in the regular-season finale Tuesday at Wildcat Arena.

Ashton Ates paced Whitehouse (27-11, 11-1) with nine kills and three blocks. Megan Harris added nine kills, Beth Hood finished with eight kills, while Kelly Keller added seven kills and 13 digs.

Ronnie Fountain assisted on 31 points, while Amanda Dimon registered 10 digs on the night for the LadyCats.

Whitehouse's first-round playoff opponent is yet to be determined.

 

Winona Takes Down Quitman

WINONA -- The Winona Ladycats finished off the regular season with a 25-13, 25-15, 23-25, 25-19 defeat of Quitman on Tuesday in District 14-2A action.

Kawaii Gordon led the way for Winona with 19 kills. Bailey Daniels added 19 assists and six aces, Alexis Hernandez dished out 13 assists, while the duo of Janeth Tarango and Mallori Shacklett teamed for 29 digs.

Winona advanced to the Class 3A playoffs, which begin next week.

 

Eustace Earns Sweep Of Rice

RICE -- The Eustace Lady Bulldogs capped their regular season with a 25-19, 25-15, 25-20 sweep of Rice in District 18-2A action Tuesday night.

Kasey Lopez had 15 kills to lead the way for Eustace. Taylor Peebles added six kills and two aces, Marshall Padgett had four kills, while Abra Roberts and Ashley Purselley combined for 26 assists and four aces.

Eustace will compete in the Class 3A playoffs beginning early next week.

 

Beckville Caps Perfect District Season

BECKVILLE -- The Beckville Lady Bearcats concluded the regular season with a 25-17, 25-21, 25-14 sweep of Gary on Tuesday night, which completed a perfect run through District 20-2A.

Carson Blair led Beckville (32-4, 10-0) with nine kills, 12 digs and two aces. Kinley Blair added six kills, three digs, an ace and a block, Carley Lawhorn had five kills, 12 digs, three aces and a block, Madi Mize had a team-best 19 assists, while Kassidy Alexander chipped in with nine assists, two kills and four digs.

Beckville will play host to New Diana at 11 a.m. Saturday in warm-up match before beginning the Class 2A playoffs next week.
