Tuesday Volleyball: Quitman Rolls Past Edgewood + More

EDEGWOOD -- The Quitman Lady Bulldogs earned a 25-20, 25-17, 25-20 sweep of Edgewood in District 12-3A action Tuesday.

Quitman (18-7, 2-0) was led by Kaci Raley, who had 14 kills, four blocks, and six digs. Molly Tanner added 11 kills, a block, two aces, and six digs, Cammie Hicks had 30 assists to go with three kills, and two digs, while Madalyn Spears chipped in with two kills, a pair of aces, and 13 digs.

The season resumes Saturday for Quitman at home against Alba-Golden.

Winona Outlasts Arp

WINONA -- The Winona Ladycats took a thrilling 25-20, 25-9, 22-25, 14-25, 15-8 win over Arp on Tuesday in District 15-3A action.

Winona, which moved to 2-0 in league play, was led by Nichole Garrett, who hammered home 24 kills to go with three blocks and 26 digs. Randaysha Hanson assisted on 86 points and added 29 digs.

The duo of Josie Barrera and Mallori Shacklett combined for 77 digs.

Beckville Too Much For Jefferson

BECKVILLE -- The Beckville Ladycats cruised to a 25-12, 25-8, 25-6 sweep of Jefferson in District 16-3A play Tuesday.

Hannah Humphries led Beckville (21-4, 2-0) with 11 kills and two digs. Payton Jones added seven kills, three aces, and 17 digs, Kinley Blair had seven kills, seven aces, and five digs, and Riley Seegers finished with seven kills, a block, one ace, and seven digs.

Jordan Tondreau chipped in with seven kills, two assists, an ace, and two digs, while Kinley Pepper registered 35 assists to go with a pair of aces and six digs.

Beckville is back in action Sept. 20 at Waskom.
