NEW CHAPEL HILL -- The Bulldogs jumped on Bullard early en route to a 10-3 win in District 16-3A.

Led by Zack Walters' 4-for-4 performance, Chapel Hill put three runs on the board in the bottom first and added three more runs in the second inning.

Andrew Hill got the win for Chapel Hill with one hit and two unearned runs allowed through four innings of work. Braden Nelson finished the game off with three innings on the mound, one hit given up and an unearned run.

The Bullard Panthers committed three errors. Chapel Hill committed four.

The win moved the Bulldogs to 3-1 in the district. Bullard has a league record of 1-2.

Chapel Hill will visit Kilgore at 6:30 p.m. Friday. The Panthers host Henderson at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

 

Carthage Knocks Off Pollok Central

POLLOK -- The Carthage Bulldogs remained unbeaten in District 20-3A with a 7-2 win over Pollok Central on Tuesday night.

Carthage (10-6, 2-0) was led offensively by Kolby Blissett, who was 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Anthony Chhor had two hits and an RBI, while Jack Morris had a hit and knocked in a run.

Terian "Tee" Goree, Tyler Musgrove, Micah Templeton, Blake Bogenschutz and Jared Blissett all had one hit as part of the Bulldogs' 11-hit attack.

William Rittenberry (4-1) got the win, striking out 13 in six solid innings. The senior right-hander allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits with three walks. Morris pitched a perfect seventh to finish off the win.

Carthage will play Lufkin Hudson (10-3, 3-0) at home Friday in a huge district matchup.

Carlisle Wins Top 15 Matchup

PRICE -- Tuesday's game at Carlisle High School featured the No. 2 Class A team hosting the No. 15 Harleton.

Carlisle kept ahead and won, 6-3.

Justin McMurty led the Indians offensively with a 2-for-3 night and Carlisle put together 11 hits total to Harleton's six.

Harleton led 3-2 after three full innings.

Carlisle, which had led 2-0, responded with the game's final four runs and Ben Goss closed the game with four innings of relief work.

The Indians moved to 8-3 overall and 4-0 in District 20-A and will next travel to Leverett's Chapel for a 4 p.m. game Friday.

Joaquin's Brock Lawson Pitches for Complete-Game Win

SHELBYVILLE -- Freshman Brock Lawson guided Joaquin to a 5-3 win against Shelbyville in District 21-A with nine strikeouts in a complete game.

Joaquin is now 8-4 overall and 3-2 in the district. It will visit Martinsville at 6 p.m. Friday.

Shelbyville also will travel Friday for a 6 p.m. game against Timpson.

 

Frankston Run-Rules Arp

FRANKSTON -- The Indians cruised past Arp, 13-3, in a five-inning District 18-2A game.

Frankston's Waylon Morris, Justice Bean and Jordan Thomas all recorded doubles. Bean and Thomas also had single base hits in the game.

Bean and Jordan Griffin led the Indians with 3 RBIs each. Morris and Dylan Hokit both had 2 RBIs in the game.

Morris earned the win for Frankston through the five full innings.

The Indians (6-5, 2-2) will visit Troup on Friday.

 

Rockwall-Heath Too Much for Longview

HEATH -- Longview's Dez Chumley and Sam Scarborough put together a nice pitching outing for the Lobos, but Rockwall-Heath put together two runs in the fourth inning and one in the sixth for a 3-0 win in District 12-5A.

Chumley dished for three strikeouts against Rockwall-Heath and allowed six hits through five innings with no walks given up. Scarborough pitched a hitless sixth inning, but Rockwall-heath's Tyler Ivey threw for a complete-game shutout with 10 strikeouts, two hits and two walks.

Chumley recorded one of the hits. Jared Pauley got the second.

The loss dropped Longview to 1-1 in the district.

Longview will host Mesquite Horn at 7 p.m. Friday.

 

Grapeland Remains Perfect in District

GRAPELAND -- The Grapeland Sandies stayed unbeaten in District 22-A action Tuesday with a 5-0 victory over Latexo.

Zack Lewis pitched six shutout innings to get the win on the mound. He allowed two hits, stuck out four, walked three and hit two batters. Isaac Lewis worked a scoreless seventh with three strikeouts to complete the shutout.

Clay Goolsby, Riley Chapman, Zack Lewis and Isaac Lewis all came up with timely hits for the Sandies.

Grapeland (4-8, 3-0) continues its season Friday at Kennard.
