NEW CHAPEL HILL -- Jeffery Minor, Sir Cederic Suell, Andrew Anderson and Kris Davis were just too much for Pine Tree to overcome in the Bulldogs' 61-47 home win.

Minor and Suell scored 14 points each and Anderson chipped in another 12 for Chapel Hill. Davis rounded out Bulldogs double-digit scorers with 10 points.

Pine Tree's Joel Best had arguably the best individual performance of the night though. He scored 18 points for the losing side.

Mason Hays added 11 points.

Chapel Hill will play a non-distict tuneup game against Henderson on Monday prior to participating in the Wagstaff Classic.

Pine Tree will stay on the road and battle Tatum on Thursday.

 

Another Big Win For Laneville

LANEVILLE -- Despite three scorers with more than 10 points, Cushing was outgunned by Laneville in a 93-50 game.

The Yellowjackets had five players finish Tuesday's game in double-digit figures.

Kendrick Anderson had a game-best 20 points for Laneville (8-2) with Jaylon Grant just behind at 19 points. Tra Alexander scored 14 points, Ty Johnson had 13 and Christian Brantley finished with 11.

Anderson and Alexander also recorded seven rebounds and five steals apiece. Alexander also dished out eight assists in the game as did Grant.

Derodney Thomas led Cushing with 16 points. Collin McGinnis and Blake Ham rounded out top performers for the Bearkats with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Laneville's next game will be its District 28-A opener. The team will take on Wells at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

 

Girls Basketball

Henderson Cruises By Kilgore

KILGORE -- Henderson forced 22 turnovers and got a nice 55-31 road win against Kilgore.

Madeline Morris scored a team-best 16 points followed by Nakia McElhanon's 11.

Joy Williams recorded eight rebounds in the Lady Lions' victory. Ja'Keyah Stewart had five assists in addition to seven points. Tomariah Dixon also had a big night with five rebounds and four steals.

Henderson (9-6) will be back in action Friday at home against Brownsboro. Kilgore's next game will be in the UT-Tyler Tournament.

 

Martin's Mill Gets Solid Win Over Chapel Hill 

BEN WHEELER -- Cheyenne Brown led the way with 28 points in Martin's Mill's 66-34 win against Chapel Hill.

With the victory, the Lady Mustangs moved to 10-4.

Hailey Celsur added 16 points for Martin's Mill and Jocie Bennett had 12.

The Lady Mustangs' next game will be at home against Alba-Golden on Dec. 23.
