GARRISON -- Samantha Clakley has picked up where she left off last season.

The senior pitcher tossed 14 strikeouts through seven innings of work in Carthage's 6-0 win at Garrison. She only allowed two hits and a hit-by-pitch in the shutout.

Offensively, Kyrstin Martin led the way for the Bulldogs with a 3-for-4 night and two runs batted in. Morgan Davis batted 2-for-4 with an RBI and a walk. Brianna Gwinn successfully hit in two of three plate appearances and scored a run.

Carthage will visit Jefferson next week. Pittsburg will host Garrison on Friday.

 

Bullard Rolls By Henderson

BULLARD -- The Panthers cruised Tuesday against Henderson, a 6-1 non-district win.

Kyndel Clayton earned the win for Bullard.

Zoe Hancock batted 2-for-4 and Ashleigh Gilliard hit 1-for-2 in the victory to round out the Panthers' top offensive performers.

 

Van's Sierra Nichols Picks Up Fourth Win

MT. PLEASANT -- Sierra Nichols threw nine strikeouts in four inning of work in an 8-2 victory against Mt. Pleasant.

Nichols (4-1) allowed one earned run and the Vandals were able to finish the game with the bullpen thanks to stellar offense, including a 3-for-4 night from the starting pitcher with 4 runs batted in.

Nichols, Hallee Carter and Morgan Benge recorded doubles in the game.

RustieAnne Spinks picked up her second have of the season. She closed the game with six strikeouts in three innings.
